Balochistan: Anti-Iran Baloch leader assassinated in Karachi

KARACHI: A Baloch activist from Sarbaz city of Iranian-Occupied Balochistan was assassinated in Karachi on Sunday, 25 February 2024.

According to details, Haji Ayub Gwahramzaei was shot dead in the Malir area of Karachi on Sunday evening.

He originally hailed from Iranian-Occupied Balochistan’s Nasirabad area of Sarbaz city, hence he was also known as Haji Ayub Sarbazi.

It has been reported that he was targeted by proxies affiliated with the Iranian state.

Sarbazi was reportedly one of the founding leaders of Jondullah-turn-Jaish-al-Ald and was supportive of Baloch national and political freedom.

Baloch political activists believe that following the secret agreement between the governments of Pakistan and Iran, the assassination of political activists has increased in the two countries.

There has been no confirmation by Iran’s official sources about Haji Ayub’s murder nor has his assassination been reported by Pakistan media at the time of filing this news report.
