Balochistan: Anti-Terrorism Court Declares 12 Baloch Activists as Proclaimed Offenders

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta has declared 12 individuals, including prominent Baloch activists Dr. Sabiha Baloch, Gulzar Dost Baloch and Dr. Shalee Baloch, as proclaimed offenders in a pending case.

The court notice states that the accused were summoned under Case No. 96/25 and FIR No. 67/2025 and were ordered to appear before the court on March 7. Failing to comply with the summons has now resulted in their being declared proclaimed offenders.

According to the notice, the case has been registered against the accused under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including Sections 153A, 186, 436, 341, 353, 427, 505, and 324, in addition to Section 7A of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The court has directed the named individuals to appear and present their defence, warning that further legal action will follow if they fail to comply.

Dr. Sabiha Baloch is identified as a central member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Gulzar Dost Baloch serves as the convener of the Turbat Civil Society, and Dr. Shalee Baloch is recognised as a central organiser of the Baloch Women Forum.

Other individuals named in the notice are also reported to be political and social activists.

Sources indicate that the court has instructed all accused to present their positions before it, and failure to do so may result in additional legal measures.

The announcement comes amid a broader crackdown on Baloch activists by the earlier Pakistan army-selected government of Balochistan, which had issued a bounty list targeting 39 Baloch political figures, including exiled leaders Hyrbyair Marri and Brahumdagh Bugti.

The provincial government has also sanctioned collective punishment measures against families whose members are affiliated with political parties and pro-freedom armed groups, further intensifying concerns about repression in Balochistan.
