Balochistan: BLA Pays Tribute to Fighter Following His Death After Detention

SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has paid tribute to one of its members, Ghulam Hussain Baloch, also known by his alias Nasir, who the group says died after being arrested and held by Pakistani security forces.

According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the fighter hailed from the Johan area and had been associated with the organisation since 2020.

In its statement, the BLA described Ghulam Hussain Baloch as a committed and determined member who joined the organisation to take part in the struggle for Balochistan. The group said he became involved in its activities shortly after joining in 2020 and was regarded by fellow members as a hardworking and dedicated fighter.

According to the statement, during his time with the organisation, Ghulam Hussain participated in several armed operations targeting Pakistani security forces and installations.

The BLA statement added that he took part in attacks against Pakistani military positions, bases, and infrastructure in areas including Nagaho, Ge Shishak, Harboi, Koh Maran, Kadh Kocha, Dilband and surrounding regions. These areas are located within parts of Balochistan where insurgent activity has periodically been reported.

The organisation stated that at a certain stage of his involvement, he decided to remain in the mountainous regions alongside other fighters, which insurgent groups in the province have historically used as operational bases. According to the BLA, his participation in armed activities and his commitment to the organisation’s objectives inspired other young members.

The BLA further said that Ghulam Hussain Baloch was arrested on December 4, 2024, while carrying out a “special organisational mission.” The group accused Pakistani security forces of detaining him and holding him in custody, where he was subjected to prolonged interrogation and torture.

In its statement, the BLA said that he remained in detention for nearly two years and endured severe treatment during that time. The organisation claimed that despite the torture, he refused to renounce his beliefs or cooperate with the authorities.

According to the BLA, Ghulam Hussain Baloch died on January 24, 2026. The group described his death as a sacrifice made in pursuit of its cause and said he had remained committed to the organisation’s ideology until the end.

The BLA also stated that his death would not weaken the group’s resolve and added that other members would continue their activities. In the statement, the organisation said that fighters would carry forward his mission.

The BLA statement concluded by honouring Ghulam Hussain Baloch’s role within the organisation and reiterating its commitment to continue its campaign.
