Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Pakistani Forces Abduct Seven Baloch Youth in 24 Hours, Kill Child
QUETTA: In the past 24 hours, Pakistani forces have forcibly abducted at least seven Baloch individuals from the Kech district in Balochistan.
According to reports, on Saturday, August 10, four people were abducted from the Kech district, identified as Waleed Hameed, Nazir Umaid, Hanif Umaid, and Nasram Pir Bakhsh.
Relatives of the abducted individuals have demanded the immediate release of their loved ones, warning that they will stage strong protests if their demands are not met.
The family of Nasram Baloch stated that he was released from prison only a month ago and was in poor health due to the torture he endured while in custody.
Now, he has been abducted again. Nasram was initially released after a sit-in protest by his relatives in Turbat, but the forces have once again detained him.
On August 11, 2024, Pakistani forces abducted two more Baloch youths from the Turbat area of district Kech.
The forcibly disappeared youths have been identified as Zakir Ali, son of Majeed, and Faqir, son of Wahid Bakhsh.
Relatives reported that Pakistani forces, using three vehicles, conducted an offensive and abducted the two youths from the Askani area of Turbat.
In a separate incident, the relatives of Javed Ali, a resident of the Minaz area of Buleda, reported that he was whisked away on July 31, 2024, while traveling from Buleda to Turbat.
Child Killed
In a tragic incident, a five-year-old girl was killed by firing and shelling carried out by the Pakistani army last night in the Kulwah area of Kech district.
The deceased girl has been identified as Satara, the daughter of Bashir Ahmed.
The firing and shelling occurred in the Kulwah Dindar area of Kech district.
Following the girl’s burial, residents of the area and their families blocked the Kech road in protest.
It is also important to note that on August 5, 2024, in a similar incident, Pakistan FC forces attacked a house in Kharan, Balochistan, resulting in the death of a child named Qutratullah, the son of Akbar.
