QUETTA/KARACHI: The Baloch Republican Party (BRP) reports that Pakistani forces have abducted at least 25 individuals from Dera Bugti over the past three days during ongoing military offensives.

Among the abducted are Levies Risaldar (Head of Levies forces) and his two brothers, as well as doctors, students, and farmers.

According to details, the Pakistani forces, along with the ISI and military, have conducted extensive raids, particularly targeting residents of the Bugti tribe. Notable local missing figures include Levies Resaldar Tariq Bugti, his brother Murtaza Bugti, and cousin Raees Bugti.

The BRP highlighted in its statements on the X platform that during these military offensives, Pakistani forces have breached the sanctity of homes, detaining individuals and transferring them to undisclosed locations without any legal recourse. In one recent incident, Dr. Wazir, son of Misho Bugti, was taken alongside a minor named Zahid, son of Usman Bugti, igniting fears for the safety of the local population.

Earlier, on October 16, Pakistani forces abducted at least nine Baloch students from Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The students include:

  • Shoaib Ali son of Bakhtiar, a History student at Karachi University
  • Haneef son of Badal, a student at Federal Urdu University
  • Ishfaq son of Khaliqdad, a Madrassa student
  • Shahzad son of Khalid, a Madrassa student

  • Qambar Ali son of Misqan, an FSc student
  • Saeedullah son of Dur Muhammad, an LLB student at Karachi University
  • Muhammad Javed son of Lal Bakhsh, a final-year student in the History department at Karachi University

Shoaib Ali has been released, while the other eight students remain missing.

In Nushki, similar patterns of abduction were observed, with nine individuals forcibly taken during military raids on October 7 and 8. Victims include:

  • Master Fareed Ahmed son of Haji Dulat Khan Badini
  • Abdul Malik son of Haji Karam Khan
  • Mumtaz Baloch son of Haji Amanullah
  • Iqbal Baloch son of Haji Amanullah
  • Habib Baloch son of Ali Dost
  • Shareef Jan son of Paramus Khan
  • Shah Saleem son of Haji Fazil Khan
  • Zahoor Jan son of Haji Fazil Khan
  • Asfand Baloch son of Najeebullah

Furthermore, in Khuzdar, Ali Haider Baloch, a recent graduate from Lasbela University, was abducted during a raid that violated not only the privacy of his home but also women and children were harassed during the unwanted offensive.

The increasing occurrences of enforced disappearances across Balochistan are alarming, raising serious concerns among human rights advocates and local Baloch people. Families of the abducted individuals have been expressing their anguish over the lack of information about the whereabouts and well-being of their loved ones.

The alarming increase in enforced disappearances, particularly of students and young professionals, signals not only a deepening crisis in Balochistan but also exposes Pakistan state atrocities and intentions to deprive the Baloch students of their basic right to education and development.

As the Baloch families of the enforced disappeared people continue to suffer in silence, the global community must stop looking the other way and support the Baloch people’s call for justice, accountability and the restoration of Balochistan’s independence.
