Balochistan: Imminent Execution Threat for Sudabeh Irandegani in Iranshahr Prison
DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN) Sudabeh Irandegani, a 34-year-old mother of six, faces imminent execution in Iranshahr Prison after being sentenced to death on murder charges.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, Irandegani was arrested on November 6, 2022, following a verbal altercation with another woman, during which that woman’s child was tragically killed by another teenage individual. To protect that child, Irandegani reportedly accepted responsibility for the murder charge.
The family of the deceased is demanding two billion Tomans in blood money, of which 800 million Tomans have been raised through contributions from citizens both inside and outside Iranian-Occupied Balochistan. They have until November 8 to pay the remaining amount, or Irandegani’s death sentence will be executed.
Coming from a financially disadvantaged background, Irandegani’s family is unable to meet the blood money requirement. Additionally, many of her relatives have suffered at the hands of Iranian military forces, with several killed, injured, or detained.
Tragically, Irandegani’s sister, Nazila Irandegani, a 25-year-old who was four months pregnant, was killed by military gunfire on August 7, 2023, in Khash. Nazila’s husband remains in detention, while their two young children were injured in the incident.
Furthermore, two of Nazila’s cousins were also affected, with casualties reported.
The Baloch Activists Campaign has urged the public to provide financial assistance to Irandegani’s family. Contributions can be made through the following bank details:
