Balochistan: Three Individuals Forcibly Disappeared, Family of abducted man Announced protest
QUETTA: The Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies have forcibly disappeared three individuals from different areas of Balochistan and transferred them to undisclosed locations.
In the first incident, on the night of his wedding 04/11/2024, Shah Nawaz Shahwani, a young man from Khadkocha, Mastung, was abducted by Pakistani forces and taken to an unknown location. Shahwani’s disappearance occurred in the presence of his family and friends, sparking immediate concern and outrage.
In a second incident, Amir son of Noor Bakhsh, from the area of Mand, Kech, was forcibly taken by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies. His whereabouts remain unknown, and his family has expressed deep distress over the situation.
Another case involved Sohraab Rahi, a young man from Shahrak, Kech, who was detained by Pakistani forces in a raid last night. His family confirmed that Sohraab was taken from their home by military personnel.
This led to widespread protests by residents, with women in Shahrak blocking the Turbat-Quetta highway in protest against his enforced disappearance. The protests intensified after his family reported the abduction, calling for an end to the ongoing pattern of disappearances.
The locals in Shahrak have vowed to continue their protests until their loved ones are returned. The blockade on the CPEC highway is seen as a direct challenge to the state’s actions, and it has drawn attention to the growing unrest in the region.
Meanwhile, the family of Salman Baloch, a Khuzdar resident who has been missing for two years, has announced plans for a protest rally on November 7, 2024.
The rally will start at 3:00 PM from Shaheed Abdul Razzaq Chowk and end at Azadi Chowk, it will mark the second anniversary of Salman Baloch’s enforced disappearance.
Baloch was abducted on November 13, 2022, in Quetta, and his family continues to demand justice and answers.
A statement issued by the Baloch family has called on all human rights activists, political workers, lawyers, students, journalists, and concerned citizens to join the rally in solidarity.
The protest aims to raise awareness about the alarming frequency of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and to pressure authorities to address the issue.
In addition to the physical rally, a campaign will be launched on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM on November 7, 2024.
The Baloch family urges everyone to show their support online as well, emphasizing that such solidarity will strengthen the cause and provide hope to those suffering from the enforced disappearances.
