BLA Claims Responsibility for Attacks in Balochistan, Killing Seven

QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two recent attacks in Balochistan’s Kalat and Gwadar areas that left at least seven people dead and several others injured.
In a statement released on May 5, BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch said the group carried out a remote-controlled bomb attack targeting a Coast Guard vehicle in the Tak Tiab area of Jiwani in Gwadar, Balochistan.
According to the group, three Coast Guard personnel were killed and two others injured in the blast.
The BLA issued a warning to residents of Jiwani and nearby areas against providing vehicles or other support to Pakistani security forces, saying that such actions are being monitored by the group.
Earlier, on May 2, BLA fighters ambushed and killed four private guards of Zia Langove, a former Home Minister and advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, in the Mangchar area of Kalat. The organisation has accused Langove of collaborating with the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies and labelled him a “national criminal” complicit in “Baloch genocide.”
The BLA further added that it had previously captured and released one of Langove’s guards in March as a warning, but said that Langove continued his “anti-national” activities.
In its latest statement, the group reiterated threats toward individuals or law enforcement personnel who offer protection to Langove, saying they would be held accountable for any consequences.
The Pakistani forces have reportedly started a search operation in Pasni and surrounding areas after the attack on Coast Guards.
