Balochistan: Two, Including a Woman, Killed During Pakistani Forces’ Night Raid; Another Woman Critically Injured

SHAAL (QUETTA): At least two people, including a woman, were shot dead and another woman critically injured during a violent midnight raid by Pakistani security forces in the Malaar Machhi area of Awaran district on Tuesday night.
Local sources report that the incident occurred around 1:00 AM when security forces launched a raid on several homes in the area.
According to witnesses, as some residents attempted to resist the sudden intrusion, the forces responded with indiscriminate gunfire killing two individuals and injuring another.
The victims have been identified as Naeem Baloch son of Sanjar Baloch and Hoori bint Qasim, a middle-aged woman. Both were killed on the spot. Naeem’s mother, Dadi Baloch, sustained serious gunshot wounds and was left without medical attention throughout the night.
“She was in critical condition but was only taken to Awaran Hospital the following morning,” a local resident said, describing the lack of immediate medical care as “deliberate neglect.”
This deadly raid marks the fourth such operation in Malaar within a single week, bringing the total number of people killed by Pakistani forces in the Awaran district to at least five in the past seven days.
Residents and human rights observers have been continuously sounding the alarm over a pattern of unprovoked violence, collective punishment, and extrajudicial killings in the region.
The killing of a woman and the injury of another has further inflamed public anger and drawn sharp condemnation from Baloch activists.
“There is no justification for shooting unarmed civilians, especially women, inside their homes,” said a local activist. “These acts are not operations. They are targeted attacks on an already oppressed population.”
Human rights groups continue to call for international attention and an independent investigation into repeated incidents of state-led violence in Balochistan, where security operations have frequently resulted in civilian deaths, forced disappearances and war crimes.
