BLA Claims Responsibility for Multiple Attacks on Pakistani Forces in Kalat
SHAAL QUETTA, July 12, 2025: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks targeting Pakistani military forces and exploitative companies in the Kalat region. The group’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch, stated that the attacks are part of their continued efforts to disrupt the offensives of occupying forces and intensify their struggle for an independent Balochistan.
On the evening of July 11, BLA fighters set up a blockade on the Quetta-Karachi RCD Highway in the Dasht Goran area of Kalat, an area strategically important for the region’s infrastructure. The blockade began around 9:00 PM and involved halting traffic on the main highway as the fighters initiated vehicle checks. The operation continued until approximately 1:00 AM the following day.
During the blockade, Pakistani forces attempted to infiltrate the controlled area, which led to a prolonged exchange of fire. BLA fighters launched attacks from multiple directions, ultimately forcing the Pakistani forces to retreat. According to the BLA’s statement, the clash resulted in two Pakistani soldiers killed and three others injured.
In a separate incident, BLA fighters targeted an exploitative company near the Gidaan Hotel in Kalat, damaging several vehicles and pieces of machinery belonging to the company.
The BLA stated that these attacks are part of their ongoing campaign against the economic exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources, which they argue is carried out at the expense of the local population.
The BLA also took responsibility for two other attacks on Pakistani forces earlier in the month.
On July 2, BLA fighters launched a sniper attack on a Pakistani forces post in the Shah’e Mardan area of Kalat, killing one soldier and injuring another. Then, on July 5, the group targeted a military post in the Shekhari area using heavy weapons. The ensuing clash lasted about an hour, resulting in the deaths of five Pakistani soldiers and injuries to five more.
Azad Baloch, speaking on behalf of the BLA, highlighted the group’s resolve to continue their struggle until an independent Balochistan is established. “We will not cease our operations against occupying forces and exploitative entities until our people are free from foreign oppression and occupation,” Baloch said in the statement.
