Balochistan: Several Individuals Abducted From Dera Bugti and Kharan
SHAAL (QUETTA): Incidents of enforced disappearances continue to rise across Balochistan, with multiple cases reported this week in Dera Bugti and Kharan involving Pakistani security forces and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
In Dera Bugti’s Sui area, Pakistani forces carried out raids on homes in Bugra Colony and Bugti Colony, looting property and subjecting women and children to violence. During the aggression, five individuals were forcibly disappeared.
They were identified as Lakram son of Munshi Bugti, Ehsan son of Sharif Bugti, Ibrahim son of Rustam Bugti, Mandha Bugti son of Attal Bugti, and his nephew Noor Din son of the late Zuno Bugti.
Local sources added that a day before the incident, Pakistani military personnel abducted Master Ghaus Bakhsh Bugti, President of GTA Dera Bugti, from a crowded marketplace in Sui Tehsil.
In another case from Sui Bazaar, a young man named Yusuf son of Sher Muhammad Bugti, who worked at a tea hotel, was abducted by CTD officials. Witnesses described the CTD personnel as “notorious” for their role in previous disappearances.
Meanwhile, in Kharan, a member of the local Levies Force, Bashir Ahmed Kubdani son of Haji Muhammad Hussain Kubdani, was taken into custody by intelligence agency operatives and CTD officials before being forcibly disappeared.
According to eyewitnesses, six masked men in three vehicles raided his home around 11 p.m. on October 19, arresting him and transferring him to an unknown location.
Family members have expressed deep concern, stating that five days have passed without any information about Bashir Ahmed’s whereabouts. They fear he is being held in illegal detention.
In a public statement, the family urged the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kharan, the District Police Officer (DPO), the Inspector General of Rakhshan, and other authorities to ensure his immediate release and conduct an impartial investigation into the incident.
