BLA Claims Attacks on Police Station in Washuk and Mineral Transport Vehicle in Panjgur

SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate incidents in Balochistan this week.

In a statement released by BLA’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch, the group said its fighters attacked a police station on 3 December in the Plintak area of Washuk district. The statement claimed that BLA members temporarily detained police personnel, set the station building on fire, and later released the officers along with their weapons.

According to Azad Baloch’s statement the BLA does not target “neutral Baloch police personnel” and said it would not seize their weapons unless they interfered with the  operations of Baloch sarmachars (freedom fighters).

“In Plintak, the BLA did not confiscate the local police personnel’s weapons because the organisation did not want to insult or disrespect them.”

The statement warned local police officers to avoid involvement in actions against the BLA, claiming they would be provided “safe passage” during clashes if they remained uninvolved.

The statement also claimed responsibility for an incident on 2 December in the Soraap area of Panjgur district, where a vehicle transporting minerals was set on fire. According to the group, the driver and cleaner were released after receiving a warning because they were local Baloch residents.

The BLA reiterated its intention to continue its armed campaign, which the group says is aimed at establishing an independent Baloch state.
