Balochistan: Government is not taking the issue of enforced-disappearances seriously: VBMP
QUETTA: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons has expressed its concerns over the growing number of recovery of mutilated dead bodies from different areas of Balochistan on Thursday.
The Chairman of VBMP, Nasrullah Baloch, said the tragedy of the discovery of mutilated dead bodies continues in Balochistan from past many years but the provincial government is not taking this issue seriously.
He said from 2010 – 2017 more than one thousand tortured dead bodies have been found in different areas of Balochistan.
He added, “Most of the bodies were of the previously abducted Baloch activists whose identity could not be confirmed due to mutilation and disfigurement of the dead bodies and the government has buried them without ascertaining the identity.
“The government has neither obtain their DNAs no used other means to identify those dead bodies.”
Nasrullah Baloch said that recently dead bodies were found in Panjgur, Awaran and Dera Bugti regions of Balochistan and these bodies were also buried without identification. “These are inhuman acts which our organisation [VBMP] strongly condemns.”
He said the Supreme Court has ordered that wherever an unidentified body is found the government should take their DNA and use all other mean to ascertain their identity.
“Hence, we once again demand from the government to stop enforced-disappearances and discover all previously abducted persons from Balochistan,” Nasrullah Baloch said.
