Balochistan: Pakistan Military Collaborator’s Hideout Attacked in Kharan
Balochistan: Sister of surrendered Baloch fighter shot dead
QUETTA: Armed men have shot dead a Baloch woman in Talsar area of Hoshaab in district Kech Balochistan on Monday.
According to details, armed men barged into a house and killed the sister of a previous Baloch fighter who has reportedly surrendered before Pakistani army recently.
The victim has been named as Jamila whose brother Iqbal Baloch had reportedly abandoned the freedom struggle and surrendered to the Pakistani army.
Prior to Jamila’s murder, fighters of Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) abducted her brother Iqbal son Swali on 28 March 2018 from Gwarkob area of Balochistan and killed him on April 1, 2018, after they say he ‘confessed collaborating’ with Pakistan army.
The BLF, however, made it clear that it has nothing do with the killing of Iqbal’s sister Jamila and they described her killing as ‘an unpleasant, regrettable and deplorable incident’.
Meanwhile, the Baloch social media activists have condemned the killing of Jamila by a ‘militant organisation’ and demanded a full investigation into the murder.
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan in a Tweet said, ‘We condemn the killing of a woman, Jamila, who was killed by a militant group in Hoshap of district Kech Balochistan on Sunday 1st April. We demand from the concerned group to investigate the incident. Parties of conflict must respect civilians especially women/children.’
In December 2017 a Baloch group – Baloch Liberation Tigers’ had attacked the house of a pro-Pakistan Wadera (Tribal notable) in Dera Bugti. Six members of his family including women and children were killed in that attack.
The pro-freedom Baloch political parties, armed groups and leaders had not reacted to the attack or condemned the killing of women and children in Dera Bugti nor have they so far condemned the killing of Jamila Baloch in Hoshaab.
Pro-freedom Baloch activists and those sympathetic to Baloch freedom struggle believe that such attacks will benefit the Pakistani state propaganda against Baloch struggle and discredit the Baloch struggle inside Balochistan and on the international level.
