Baloch Martyrs Day commemorated in Balochistan and Karachi
The Baloch nation have commemorated the ‘Baloch Martyrs’ across Balochistan and Karachi on 13 November and paid their rich tributes to ‘fallen heroes’ of Baloch liberation struggle.
According to details the Baloch Shohada Committee had given calls for rallies, references on 13 November with reference to ‘Baloch Martyrs’. Other parties and student organisations also took part in the remembrance day of Baloch Martyrs.
The Baloch Shohada (Martyrs’) Committee organised a rally from Arts Council Karachi to the Press Club. A large number of Baloch women, children and political activists participated in the rally. At the Karachi Press Club the organisers of the rally shed light on the importance of Baloch Martyrs Day and said that a specific day for all Baloch Martyrs shows that they are all equal and should be respected equally.
“There should be no difference between a martyred Nawabs, Sardars and a common Baloch because they all sacrificed their lives for the same purpose which is the independence of Balochistan and prosperity of Baloch nation,” Shohada Committee representatives said.
They said the Baloch have been struggling against the British forces for their freedom but when the British left then Pakistan occupied Balochistan and in resistance against Pakistan thousands of Baloch have sacrificed their lives for freedom of Balochistan.
The speakers said that four years ago the Baloch nation has chosen 13 November, because of its historical significance, as the Baloch Martyrs day. Every year Baloch people in Balochistan and abroad commemorate this day to remember great heroes of freedom struggle and renew their commitment to continue the martyrs’ mission till victory.
They said historically 13 November is a significant day for Baloch nation because on this day the British forces attacked Kalat, the Capital of Balochistan, and the then Baloch ruler Mir Mehrab Khan and other Baloch embraced martyrdom while fighting against invading British forces. “This days reminds us that when our motherland’s sovereignty and security is stake we all must unite to defend it.”
The protesters also lit candles in memory of Baloch martyrs of freedom struggle and held their pictures.
