Balochistan: Pakistan Frontier Corps check post attacked in Kharan and Mawand
QUETTA: Unknown armed men have attacked the check post of Pakistani security forces in Kharan city on June 18 with grenade launchers.
No casualty has been reported as result of this attack.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Azad Baloch has called media outlets in Balochistan and accepted the responsibility for the attack on behalf of his organisation.
Baloch said, ‘Our fighters attacked the FC check post near Model School in Kharan city at mid-day on June 18 with grenade launchers.’
He added, ‘our organisation accepts responsibility for this attack and our actions against occupying forces will continue till Baloch national liberation.’
This was the second attack on FC in Kharan within a span of few days. Earlier on 14 June, BLA attacked FC check post near Degree College from two directions.
Azad Baloch, the spokesperson of BLA, had accepted the responsibility of the earlier attack as well and he claimed that several FC officials were wounded and after that FC started indiscriminately firing and shelling at local population.
Several people including a woman were injured because of FC’s firing. The women later succumbed to her wounds and died in hospital.
Also, on 14 June in a separate incident, the Baloch Liberation Army attacked an FC check post in Bijjar Wadh area of Mawand in district Kohlu Balochistan.
According to local news outlets, the exchange of firing between Baloch fighters and Pakistani forces continued for an hour.
No casualties have been reported from either side.
