Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Suspended commanders have no right to use organisation’s name: BLA
QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army in a statement to media on Thursday said that BLA has not conducted the suicide attack on August 11 in Daalbanden area of district Chaghai Balochistan. ‘Two suspended commanders Aslam Baloch and Bashirzaib have used the name of a permanently terminated spokesperson Jihand Baloch to accept the responsibility of that attack,’ Azad Baloch, said in a statement released from the unknown location to media.
The BLA spokesperson, Azad Baloch, said that name of Jihand Baloch was permanently terminated and Aslam Baloch and Bashirzaib were suspended indefinitely in December 2017 by the high command of BLA.
Azad Baloch said that the name of Aslam Baloch’s son was not in BLA’s Majeed Brigade list and the organisation has not approved this suicide attack. ‘BLA has an organisational procedure of choosing its Fedayeen (volunteers who carry out suicide attacks) and including their name in Majeed Brigade. When BLA takes organisational decisions it is responsible for the success and failure of such decisions. We confirm that these organisational procedures were not followed during Daalbanden suicide attack.’
The BLA spokesperson said there was no room for emotional, personal, family and tribal pressure during the selection of a volunteer and all the aspects of their independent decision to carry out suicide attack will be examined before accepting or rejecting their decision. Those who wish to become part of BLA’s Majeed Bridage their names will be passed on to the organisation for consideration. The organisation then makes sure that a candidate is mentally fit to take the decision about his life and death.
‘In a situation of war and our enemy’s disproportion use of power, the Baloch resistance organisations reserve, the right under moral and war laws to use suicide attacks in self-defence but BLA’s Fedayeen (volunteers) has to go through an organisational process before any such action. No regional commander has the authority to choose a volunteer or the place of the attack according to their individual wishes. Under the rules of the BLA, a chain of command will approve this process and determines the location and time considering that there are more chances of operational success,’ the BLA statement read, adding, ‘Aslam Baloch could not fulfil the organization’s process and the established standards that is why he used his son to conduct a Fedayee attack under his personal decision.’
The spokesperson said that BLA was formed to gain Baloch national independence but Aslam Baloch is now using the name of BLA for his personal goals according to his personal wishes. ‘Organisations run under rules and only a strong organisation can achieve national independence, Azad Baloch said, adding, ‘Before this, Aslam Baloch violated the organisation’s rules and went to India without telling anyone and then instead of answering for his wrongdoing, he tried to create anarchy within the organisation. Later, he endorsed the announcement and threats to media and journalists by BLF leadership and used power against innocent Baloch national under this policy.’
Azad Baloch said that through all these actions, attempts were made to harm the BLA’s organizational reputation that is why the BLA High Command rejected all these policies and informed the Baloch nation that Aslam and Bashirzaib have been suspended for hatching conspiracies and bringing anarchy in the organisation.
The spokesperson said during this Fedayee attack (Daalbanden suicide attack) organisational rules were violated for personal wishes and a youth was sent on a suicide mission in the name of BLA and the responsibility for this attack was accepted in the name of a permanently terminated spokesperson. Hence, the charge sheet of this action will also be added to the name of Aslam and Bashirzaib.
The spokesman further said that Aslam Baloch and Bashzeb are using words such as ‘Command Council’ to mislead people and to overshadow their suspension from the organisation. They can neither be pardoned from being answerable to the organisation nor can such words give any organisational legitimacy to the personal actions of suspended members.
Azad Baloch said that the principles and standard of justice in BLA are not like other organizations in Balochistan who killed their members over small controversies. ‘The BLA gave more than one opportunity to Aslam and Bashirzaib but despite this, both of them continued their conspiracies against the organisation and violated the rules,’ he added.
Azad Baloch said that these two members are now being given the last opportunity to answer for their wrongdoing to the organisation but if instead of responding positively they continued their conspiracies and tried to further harm the organisation’s reputation then the membership of these two commanders will be terminated permanently.
