Balochistan: Two Baloch inmates executed in Zahedan prison, another died due to medical negligence
ZAHEDAN: Iranian forces have executed two Baloch prisoners in Zahedan and Saravan prisons while another inmate died because of lack of medical care.
According to details, the Baloch Activists’ Campaign reported that on Saturday 15 September, Iranian forces executed 31-year-old Arif Reiki at Central prison Zahedan.
He was arrested on drug charges six years and kept in Zahedan prison since his arrest.
The victim was quarantined from ward 5 of Zahedan prison a few days ago and he hanged today (Saturday) morning.
Another prisoner, Nazeer Ghamshazahi, a resident of Saravan was executed in Saravan prison on 12 September 2018.
He was arrested in 2015 by plain-clothed intelligence officials, accused of murder and awarded death sentence.
He was in prison for three years and five months when eventually the criminal branch of IRGC (revolutionary court) in Saravan implemented his death sentence on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, a third inmate died in Zahedan prison due to lack of medical care on Friday 14 September 2018.
The victims Ghulam Reza Gul, 52 was a resident of Zabul who was held at Ward 6 of Zahedan prison.
He was charged with drug dealing and had been in prison for past nine years.
He had been diagnosed with gastric and intestinal infections and lost his life because of medical negligence in Prison.
Mr Ghulam Reza Gul was entitled to leave on parole but he was unable to secure his bail.
Previously there have complained about prisoners being deprived of minimum infrastructure facilities in this jail and many have lost their lives for lack of proper treatment by the prison administration.
At least four prisoners have died this year alone due to lack of medical treatment and the court has imposed restrictions on them for treatment outside prison.
It should be noted that on 31 May 2018 a prisoner named, Ramin Dolkaleh, from ward number 1 Zahedan died in prison. Prior to his death another prisoner, Ghulam Nabi Reiki, died in war 5 of Zahedan prison on 29 May 2018 because he did not have access to appropriate medical care and d in April 2018 Naseer Zurqi, detained in war 8, died due to stroke and medical failure.
Human Rights groups have time and again reported about the lack of medical care and behaviour of prison authorities and security agents at Zahedan prison. Medial failure and lack of proper treatment of inmates have been a long-standing problem for prisoners.
