Balochistan: Four including two girls injured in acid attack
QUETTA: Four female including two girls with serious burnt wounds were hospitalised in Quetta – the capital city of Balochistan on Tuesday.
According to details, unknown assailants barged into a house and splashed acids at victims in Mengal Abad in Saryab Road area of Quetta and fled the scene.
The local authorities confirmed that two women and two girls were critically wounded and shifted to BMC (Bolan Medical Complex) Hospital for treatment.
The immediate motives of the attack could not be ascertained until the filing of this report. However, in the past religious extremist groups accepted responsibility acid attacks.
The religious groups backed by Pakistan army also often target female and coeducation centres in their effort to discourage girls from going to schools and colleges.
