Balochistan: A Baloch family appeals for his loved one’s release, another calls a protest on 4 October

QUETTA: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has made an online appeal to the captures of Shabir Baloch for his immediate release.

The appeal was posted on VBMP’s twitter and Facebook book page on behalf of Mr Baloch’s family saying that Baloch was abducted on 14 October 2016 from district Kech Balochistan.
The family was quoted as saying, “It has been nearly four years since Shabir Baloch was abducted but his whereabouts remain unknown.”

Shabir Baloch’s wife and sister have initiated the new wave of protests in Quetta which encouraged hundreds of other families to come forward and register the cases of their loved one with VBMP.

However, majority of the abducted Baloch have not been released yet and they continue to languish in illegal torture chambers of Pakistan military and ISI.

Enforced disappearances still take place in Balochistan with full immunity and the Pakistani state institutions failed to act against such inhuman crimes of state organs.

Meanwhile, the family of another Baloch activist has announced to organise a protest at Quetta Press Club on Friday 4 October.

Farida Baloch the sister of Rashid Hussain Baloch has appealed to media outlets, human rights activists and people from all spheres of life to join their protest to demand for her brother’s release.

Mr Hussain was arrested in UAE in December 2018 and later handed over to Pakistan. He has since been kept in an undisclosed location which added to the worries of his family about his safety and well being.

His sister, Farida Baloch, said that it has been three months since Pakistani authorities claimed that Rashid was deported to Pakistan but he has not been presented to any court of law nor has he been provided a legal representative.

“We, the family, also have not been allowed to visit and see our brothers,” he added.
