Famous Social and Human Rights activist abducted from Gulshan Iqbal
KARACHI: Pakistani Police and Rangers have abducted a well known social and human rights activist from Karachi on Friday.
According to details, Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies have raided a house in Block 3 of Gulshan Iqbal area of Karachi and abducted Akbar Gabol Baloch.
Eyes witnesses reported that the Rangers, Police and plain-clothed officials abducted Mr Gabol. He is a social rights activist and has been actively raising voice against enforced-disappearances and other human rights violation in Karachi and Balochistan.
He organised and took part in many civil rights protests mainly in Karachi.
It is also pertinent to mention that a few days ago Akbar Gabol expressed his view under the picture of Nadir Gabol son of Nabeel Gabol which apparently anger Nabeel. After his comments, he received a phone call from withheld number threatening to kill him.
Later some armed men came to his house and kicked the main gate and shouted for him to come out but at the time of the incident, Akbar Gabol was not at home.
The following day Akbar Gabol held a press conference at Karachi Press Club and said that his and his family’s life was at risk and they are receiving constant life threats.
At around 2 AM on Friday morning Karachi Rangers, Police and plain-clothed officials raided his houses and took him away.
There was no news of his whereabouts until the filing of this report.
