Protest in Karachi against killing of Baloch fuel trader by Iran

KARACHI: The Baloch people in Karachi have organised a protest on the appeal of the Baloch United Front (Baloch Muttahida Mahaz) in Karachi against the killing of Baloch fuel traders by Iranian forces last month.

A large number of Baloch people including women and children carrying banners and placards gathered in front of Karachi Press Club and chanted slogans against Iranian state atrocities in Iranian occupied Balochistan. The protesters demanded justice for the Baloch fuel traders.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the Baloch United Front and other participants of the protest said the brutal murder of Baloch fuel traders at the hands of Iranian forces was a continuation of the Baloch genocide.

They said that the Baloch people who are divided by artificial lines are oppressed on both sides of these lines adding that, “we are like one body and not West and East but Balochistan is one and our homeland.”

They also criticised UN for its ‘silence on killing of Baloch’ by Iran and Pakistan.

People from different schools of thought including students have joined the protest to express their solidarity with Baloch people in Iranian occupied Balochistan.

It may be recalled that last month, at least 37 Baloch fuel carriers were killed and wounded during the indiscriminate fire by Iran’s IRGC forces on the GoldSmid Line, the border that separates Pakistan occupied Balochistan from the Eastern part of Balochistan currently occupied by Iran.

Protests erupted in different cities of Iranian occupied Balochistan after the unprovoked attack on Baloch fuel traders.

At least four protesters were killed as Iranian forces opened direct fire at them in their efforts to disperse the protests.

Iranian state brutalities against Baloch people and other nations under Iran’s occupation have also alerted several international Human Rights organisations including the United Nation who blamed Iran for unlawful executions disregarding their basic human rights.
