Balochistan: Iran’s IRCG shot dead Baloch youth in Saravan

DOZZAP (Zahedan): The agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRCG) shot dead a Baloch youth on the evening of November 18, 2021, in Saravan, Balochistan.

According to Balochwarna News sources, Aref Dorrazaei son of Bashir was detained by the revolutionary guards on 14 of November for a brief period and later released on the assurance that he would be safe.

The IRCG claimed that Aref had been a fugitive for many years and the IRGC had asked the tribal leaders to hand him over and get an assurance letter for the Revolutionary Guards for his amnesty.

However, four days after his release the IRGC agents shot him dead inside his house in the Shamsar region of Sarvan in Iranian occupied Balochistan.

An informed source on condition of anonymity told BalochWarna News: “On the night of Aref’s death, two IRGC officials of the IRGC entered Aref’s house and shot him dead on spot.”

It is pertinent to remember that Iranian forces have shot dead and executed hundreds of Baloch in the past few years under different pretexts.

Independent analysts believe that the Baloch youth are increasingly becoming aware of Iranian state brutalities and injustices in Balochistan but this growing wave of awareness is worrying this IRGC. Hence, they are resorting to dirty tactics of target killing the Baloch youth.

The latest conspiracy of Iran of diving the Iranian-occupied Balochistan into further administrative units and eventually omitting the name of Balochistan from official documents has also angered Baloch tribes.

The Baloch see such policies of Iran as a direct attack on Baloch national identity, culture and language.

Iran, like Pakistan, is also settling non-Baloch people in the Baloch populated areas especially in the coastal belt to bring demographic changes and counter any future Baloch resistance for their rights and ownership of their ancestral lands.
