 Balochistan: The condition of a Baloch teenager deteriorates after torture in Prison

DOZZAAP (ZAHEDAN): Shoaib Mirbalochzahi Rigi, a Baloch youth arrested and sentenced to death, has suffered a fracture in his head and his condition is said to be critical after he was tortured by prison officers in Ward 9 of Zahedan central prison.

According to his family sources: “The prison officers took him out of Ward 9 and beat him so severely that he suffered a fracture and bleeding from the head, and despite his deteriorating condition, Zahedan prison authorities conducted no medical investigation nor have he been his wounds been treated.”

Shoaib Mirbaluchzahi Rigi son of Sharif was born on 7 February 2004 in Zahedan – the capital of Iranian Occupied Balochistan.

The Iranian security forces arrested him from Zahedan on 5 October 2022, and he was sentenced to death on 19 December 2022 by Branch Two of the Criminal Court of Shaheed Nouri Judicial Complex in Zahedan on charges of “corruption on earth”.

Also, five other Baloch youngsters were to death including Mansour Dehmardeh, Kambiz Khrout, Ibrahim Naroi, Mansour Hout and Nizamuddin Hout are in Ward 9 of Zahedan Central Prison.

They are also subjected to brutal torture and intimidation as well as deprived of their rights including calling their loved ones and family visits.

It is worth mentioning that following the protests of the last eight months in Iranian-Occupied Balochistan, a large number of citizens, including children under the age of 18, have been arrested without reason and against the legal procedure, and there is no accurate information about their condition and wellbeing.
