Balochistan: Unabated Protests Against Enforced Disappearances Continue
Ongoing Military Offensives Are a Continuation of Baloch Genocide: FBM
QUETTA: The spokesperson for the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) in a statement released to the mediasaid that the ongoing Baloch genocide under Pakistan’s “Operation Azm-e-Istehkam” continues across various regions of Balochistan.
The statement emphasized that the Pakistani military’s brutal campaign against the Baloch people persists in different areas, with the latest operation targeting the Gishk area of Kalat. Commandos have been deployed via helicopters, and a large number of occupying forces are raiding civilians’ homes, subjecting residents to violence.
The spokesperson further noted that these tactics by Pakistan are not new. Under the guise of operations, forces have repeatedly violated the privacy and sanctity of Baloch households. Elderly men, women, and youth have been subjected to severe mental and physical torture during these offensives.
The statement also highlighted that, over the past two decades of the Baloch struggle for freedom, the Pakistani military has forcibly disappeared thousands of elderly and young Baloch men and women. Thousands of mutilated bodies of Baloch political activists have been found in remote areas.
Despite exhausting all state resources, Pakistan has failed to diminish the Baloch nation’s aspiration for freedom. As a result, they are now expanding their long-standing policy of genocide under misleading terms like “Azm-e-Istehkam.”
A significant amount of 1.95 billion rupees has been allocated for the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) stationed in Balochistan, which will surely be used to further intensify the genocide against the Baloch nation.
However, we want to make it clear to the occupiers that the struggle for Balochistan’s freedom cannot be defeated through oppression. We will face every form of tyranny and violence with steadfastness in our pursuit of national freedom and independence.
