Balochistan: Pakistani Forces Abducted Turbat University Lecturer and 16-Year-Old Student

SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: Pakistani forces have abducted two Baloch individuals in separate incident of enforced disappearance in Turbat and Quetta.

According to details, Turbat University’s Computer Science lecturer and literary figure Balach Bali was taken into custody by Pakistani security forces on Tuesday evening and transferred to an undisclosed location, according to his family.

They say that since the moment of his detention, no information regarding his whereabouts or condition has been provided.

Family members stated that Balach Bali was returning home after completing his duties at the university when security personnel intercepted him near Salala Bazaar in Turbat and took him away.

Despite contacting multiple police stations and other relevant authorities, the family received no confirmation of his detention nor any details of charges against him.

They describe him as a serious and professional academic devoted solely to educational and literary pursuits.

In a separate incident, the family of 16-year-old Abdul Wasi Shahwani, a resident of Gawalmandi in Quetta (Shaal), reported that he was detained by security forces on 20 November and moved to an unknown location.

According to his relatives, Abdul Wasi left home on a motorcycle around 8 p.m. to go to his brother’s hostel for study purposes when forces allegedly stopped him at Gawalmandi Chowk and took him into custody.

His family has appealed to Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini and other authorities for Abdul Wasi’s safe recovery.
