Balochistan: 11 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Kalat, BLA Accepts Responsibility
KALAT, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has accepted responsibility for two separate attacks targeting Pakistani forces in the Kalat district of Balochistan, according to statements released by its spokesperson, Azad Baloch.
In one incident, the group said its fighters carried out an ambush on March 29 at approximately 2:00 PM on a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint in the Manguchar area of Mirazi.
According to the statement, the attackers used automatic weapons and rocket launchers, surrounding the checkpoint from multiple directions. The BLA claimed that two FC personnel were killed and one was injured in the assault. The group further stated that its fighters withdrew safely after the operation.
In a separate statement issued on April 3, the BLA claimed responsibility for another attack in the Mortan area of Kalat, also said to have taken place on March 29 around 2:00 PM. The group in its statement said that nine Pakistani security personnel were killed and two others critically injured during this operation. The statement described the attack as intense, claiming that Pakistani forces had little opportunity to respond.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has been involved in a long-running insurgency in Balochistan and has repeatedly targeted Pakistani security forces and infrastructure, demanding independence for the region.
Security conditions in Balochistan remain volatile, with frequents clashes reported between Baloch fighters and Pakistani forces.
