Balochistan: Multiple Bodies Recovered, Including a Previously Abducted Student

SHAAL (QUETTA): Several bodies have been recovered from different parts of Balochistan, including Pasni, Kech, Washuk and Khuzdar districts. Among the deceased are two men from Kech who had reportedly been forcibly disappeared, as well as a student from the University of Gwadar whose body was found in Pasni.

Four bodies were found in Pasni, including one identified as a missing student of the University of Gwadar. The identities of the other three individuals were not immediately available.

In Kech district’s Buleda tehsil, police recovered two bodies from the Selo Kour area and shifted them to a hospital. The bodies were initially reported as unidentified.

However, a separate report identified the deceased as Yasser son of Baloch Khan, and Mehran son of Haji Akbar. According to the report, both men had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance after being taken into custody by Pakistani forces.

Yasser was detained and forcibly disappeared in March this year, while Mehran was taken into custody in November last year. Their bodies were subsequently recovered from the area.

In another incident, a body found near the Siahonzai grid station in the Basima area of Washuk district was identified as Muhammad Amir, a resident of Basima.

Meanwhile, another body was discovered a day earlier in the Mula Cross area of the Khuzarak-Karak region of Khuzdar district. Further details about the deceased were not immediately available.

The discoveries come amid continuing reports of bodies being recovered from different areas of Balochistan. According to reports, some bodies are buried without being identified, while others are identified as belonging to people who had previously been reported missing or forcibly disappeared.

Last week, local news sources reported that at least 27 dead bodies of previously abducted men were found from different regions, including 10 in Barkhan and 6 in Dera Bugti, Balochistan.
