Balochistan: BLA Claims Ambush in Mach, Raid in Kharan
SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate operations in Balochistan, including an ambush on a Pakistani security forces convoy in Mach and a raid targeting the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kharan, according to statements issued by the group’s spokesperson.
BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch said that on February 22, BLA fighters carried out an ambush attack on a convoy of Pakistani security forces in the Allahabad area of Mach. According to the statement, the convoy was targeted while advancing in the area with aggressive intentions.
The attack lasted for more than two hours. The BLA claimed that four security personnel were killed and three others injured during the exchange.
In a separate statement, the spokesperson said that on the morning of February 19, BLA fighters conducted a raid in Kharan city aimed at arresting the Deputy Commissioner.
During the operation, the group said it took control of two vehicles belonging to the Deputy Commissioner and detained a Levies official present at the scene.
According to the statement, the detained Levies personnel was later released after necessary questioning, citing that he was a local Baloch.
The spokesperson further stated that the organisation closely monitors current and former Deputy Commissioners in Kharan, as well as other district administrative officials.
He said that officials who act beyond their official duties and serve as “puppets” of the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies would be targeted by the group.
The BLA also issued a warning to the current Deputy Commissioner of Kharan, urging him to limit his role strictly to his official responsibilities and refrain from participating in actions against the Baloch national movement.
The statement added that no action would be taken against him if he refrained from involvement in anti-Baloch and freedom struggle actions.
Azad Baloch reiterated that the Baloch Liberation Army remains committed to continuing its armed campaign until the “freedom of occupied Balochistan” is achieved.
