Balochistan: Pakistani Military and Intelligence Installations Attacked, 15 Killed

KHARAN/CHAGHAI: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the first armed Baloch group that initiated the current phase of the Baloch liberation struggle, has claimed responsibility for two recent attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in Balochistan’s Kharan and Chaghai areas.

Attack on CPEC Road Convoy: On March 4, 2026, at approximately 10 a.m., BLA fighters attacked a Pakistani army convoy of seven vehicles on the so-called CPEC road near Kharan.

According to the group, rockets and other modern weapons were used, resulting in the deaths of 15 Pakistani soldiers and injuries to eight others, including a Major. The BLA claimed that several soldiers fled the scene during the clash, leaving behind their dead and wounded.

Attack on Dalbandin Intelligence Centre: Three days later, on March 7 at 2 p.m., the BLA said it targeted a joint office of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and Military Intelligence (MI) in Masjid Road Dalbandin Bazaar, Chagai district.

In a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the group said fighters hurled a hand grenade, causing unspecified personnel and financial losses. The statement added that the ISI, MI, and CTD offices in Chagai are also used to plan espionage operations against Baloch interests and Afghan national interests inside Afghanistan.

According to BLA statement, due to the area’s close proximity to Afghanistan, the ISI and MI use this location for weapon transport and the movement of agents into Afghanistan. The headquarters also plays a key role in coordination between Iranian intelligence agencies and Pakistan’s ISI.

According to the BLA, fighters attacked the enemy hideout while it was under close surveillance during a high-level operation.

The statement added that the CTD, in collaboration with Pakistan’s occupying forces, was involved in anti-Baloch activities, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch youth in staged encounters. Despite repeated warnings, the BLA said that the CTD continues its actions against the Baloch liberation movement.

“The BLA wants to make it clear that no leniency will be shown to those who try to obstruct the Baloch liberation movement,” the statement said. The group emphasised that these attacks are part of its ongoing struggle for an independent Balochistan and vowed to continue its campaign until the establishment of a free and sovereign Baloch state.
