BLA Claims Responsibility for Killing CTD Officer in Quetta and Pakistani Soldiers in Bolan
SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has accepted responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani security forces in Balochistan, including the killing of a counter-terrorism official and multiple soldiers.
On Sunday, March 8, the BLA said it targeted CTD Sub-Inspector Meetha Khan near the Samungli Road Board Office in Quetta.
According to the group’s spokesperson Azad Baloch, Khan was returning home after receiving orders from ISI and military intelligence when operatives opened fire, killing him on the spot. The BLA stated that its operatives returned safely to their positions after completing the attack.
The group said that CTD officials across Balochistan have been involved in extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and killing Baloch fighters in staged encounters.
The BLA warned local officers against collaborating with Pakistani security forces for financial gain, calling those who continue to assist the “enemy” unscrupulous and promising severe consequences.
The group emphasised that protecting the lives of Baloch civilians remains its top priority and pledged to continue operations until Balochistan achieves independence.
In a related operation, on Saturday, March 7, the BLA carried out attacks on Pakistani forces in Bolan. Operatives first targeted a security post in Bibi Nani using modern automatic weapons, killing one soldier.
Following military strategy, BLA operatives took positions on nearby hills for surveillance and camouflage, launching a nighttime surprise attack from multiple directions. This second assault killed five additional soldiers and injured two others.
The BLA said both attacks were carried out by its operatives and framed them as part of a broader campaign against Pakistani forces, which it describes as occupying forces in Balochistan.
The group vowed that such operations would continue until the establishment of a free and independent Balochistan.
