FBM Netherlands and IVBMP UK Announce Protest on June 26 and 27

AMSTERDAM/LONDON: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) Netherlands Branch has announced plans to hold a protest demonstration at Dam Square in Amsterdam on June 26, 2026, coinciding with the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.

According to a statement issued by FBM, the demonstration aims to draw international attention to human rights violations against the Baloch people in Balochistan. The organisation stated that the Baloch nation faces oppression, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture by the Iranian and Pakistani states.

FBM said the protest seeks to highlight the plight of individuals who have been subjected to detention and torture. The statement further noted that violations of human rights and international law continue in the region and called for greater international awareness of the situation.

The demonstration is scheduled to take place at Amsterdam’s historic Dam Square from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time. The Free Balochistan Movement has appealed to members of the Baloch community, human rights advocates, and supporters of civil liberties to participate in the event. Organisers say the gathering will serve as a platform to raise awareness about the issues facing the Baloch people and to express solidarity with victims of torture and human rights abuses.

The International Day in Support of Victims of Torture is observed annually on June 26 and is recognised by the United Nations as a day to support victims of torture and promote the eradication of torture worldwide.

Meanwhile, the International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) has also announced a protest in London on June 27 against ongoing human rights violations, enforced disappearances, and the torture of Baloch people by Iranian and Pakistani forces in Balochistan.

According to the organisers, the demonstration will take place on Saturday, June 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. opposite 10 Downing Street in London. The protest aims to raise awareness among the international community about the situation in Balochistan and to express solidarity with the families of missing persons and victims of human rights abuses.
