Balochistan: Three abducted Baloch killed in custody

TURBAT/LAHOR:  Fresh enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch activists have emerged from both Punjab and Balochistan, intensifying concerns among families, activists, and human rights groups over abuses by state forces and their death squads.

In Punjab, two brothers from Basti Lashari in the Fazil Pur area of Dera Ghazi Khan were killed in a staged police encounter in Lahore. The deceased were identified as Sajjad Lashari and Sajid Lashari sons of Muhammad Hussain.

According to local sources, the brothers were taken into custody from Islamabad four days before the reported encounter. Family members say their detention was never officially acknowledged by authorities. News later surfaced that the two had been killed during an alleged police operation in Lahore.

Relatives have rejected the official narrative, calling the incident a “fake encounter” and demanding an independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Meanwhile, in another incident in Balochistan, 19-year-old Buhran Uddin, son of Muhammad Naeem, was killed after more than six months of enforced disappearance.

According to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, Buhran Uddin, a Zamyad driver originally from Zamuran and residing in Bug Meeri, Turbat, was taken by “death squads and MI personnel” from his home on October 28, 2025.

After six months and fourteen days in state custody, his body was discovered dumped in Kech Kour, Turbat, on May 12, 2026. Activists say that signs of torture were visible on the body and accuse authorities of carrying out an extrajudicial execution.

Human rights advocates say the two incidents reflect growing fears regarding unlawful detentions, lack of due process and abuses carried out under the guise of security operations.

Authorities have yet to issue comprehensive public responses regarding either case
