Iran Executes Six Baloch Prisoners in Three Days

DOZZAAP, ZAHEDAN: A total of six Baloch prisoners were executed in different prisons across Iran over three days between June 14 and June 16, 2026, according to information gathered by Baloch human rights monitors. The executions took place in the prisons of Zahedan, Rudan, Birjand, and Yazd Prison, and all six individuals had reportedly been convicted on drug-related charges.

The prisoners were identified as Hassan Hosseini Narouei, 58, from Zahedan; Ali Bakhsh Raeisi, 27, from Delgan County; Mohammad Amin Narouei, 57, from Zahedan; Bilal Saadat Jahani (Gorgij), 35, from Golestan Province; Omar Shah Bakhsh (Faqirzehi), 24, from the Koorin district of Zahedan; and Ghafoor Shah Bakhsh, 25, from Sarjangal, Zahedan.

The latest executions come amid ongoing concerns regarding the disproportionate impact of capital punishment in the Iranian-occupied Balochistan. Although Baloch citizens make up an estimated five percent of Iran’s population, human rights documentation indicates they accounted for 8.7 percent of all recorded executions in the country during 2025.

According to data compiled by the Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network, at least 143 Baloch citizens were executed in 29 prisons across Iran in 2025. Of those, 98 were executed on drug-related charges, 40 on murder convictions, four on political or religious charges, and one on a rape conviction.

Human rights advocates have cited these figures as evidence of longstanding concerns over discrimination, marginalisation, and unequal access to fair judicial proceedings for people of Balochistan.
