FBM to Protests in Europe against Zahedan Massacre by Iran

LONDON – The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has announced a series of events across various cities in Europe to mark the second anniversary of the Zahedan Massacre of over 100 Baloch individuals in Dozzaap (Zahedan), Iranian-occupied Balochistan. These events also aim to raise awareness about the ongoing genocide of the Baloch people by Iran.

The announcement comes at the time of the two-year completion of the tragic events of September 30, 2022, when Iranian forces opened fire on Baloch civilians in Zahedan as they were leaving a mosque after Friday prayers. The shooting occurred during a protest against the alleged assault of a Baloch girl by the Iranian police, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 individuals and injuring over 300.

The FBM spokesperson emphasised that the oppression faced by the Baloch people is not a new phenomenon but part of a systematic genocide that has persisted since the occupation began. The spokesperson highlighted that the violence against the Baloch is conducted not only through direct military action but also through economic and cultural repression, including executions and restrictions on their livelihoods.

The spokesperson also recalled the 2022 incident in Zahedan, which ignited widespread protests among the Baloch community, leading to the tragic shooting at Makki Mosque during Friday prayers. They reiterated the commitment of the Baloch people to continue their struggle for freedom and unity despite nearly 96 years of oppression.

On September 30, the FBM plans to engage international media and organisations to bring attention to the genocide of the Baloch people, calling on global powers to raise their voices against the injustices perpetrated by Iran and Pakistan. The organization aims to ensure that the sacrifices of the Dozzaap martyrs are not forgotten and that the struggle for a liberated Balochistan continues.
