Balochistan: Girl Injured by Iranian Military Gunfire in Chabahar
DOZAAP (Zahedan) – A 5-year-old Baloch girl was injured by Iranian military gunfire in Chabahar on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, following a shooting incident involving a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The child, identified as Dur Danag Razvi Moqadam, was struck in the leg by a bullet while out with her father. She has since undergone surgery and is reportedly out of danger.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, Dur Danag, the daughter of Yasser from Chabahar, had been accompanying her father to a supermarket on Sa’yad Street, near the Chabahar Governor’s office, to buy ice cream.
As they were leaving the store, the father and daughter became unintended targets of military gunfire.
The military forces had been in pursuit of a Toyota Land Cruiser, and they opened indiscriminate fire at the vehicle, a stray bullet hit Dur Danag.
The incident occurred in the heart of Chabahar, where civilians often find themselves caught in the crossfire of military operations.
A 2023 report by the Baloch Activists Campaign revealed that indiscriminate military shootings targeting civilians had resulted in 118 Baloch casualties over the past year. Among these, 76 were killed, and 42 others sustained injuries.
