Students’ Front Condemns State Brutality in Balochistan

SHAAL (QUETTA): The spokesperson for the Students’ Front (BSF) has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing state-sponsored violence, oppression, and human rights abuses in Balochistan.
In a statement released today, the spokesperson said that the Balochistan government has completely disregarded its own constitution and laws, subjecting Baloch students and political activists to daily disappearances, torture, and extrajudicial killings.
“The state is in flagrant violation of its own legal and constitutional obligations. Baloch students and political workers face enforced disappearances and brutal torture on a regular basis,” the spokesperson said. “Forced disappearances, extrajudicial arrests, and target killings have now become an everyday reality for the people of Balochistan.”
The statement also shed light on the recent disappearance of Javed Baloch, the central chairman of the BSF, who was abducted by state authorities on the night of April 23, 2025. Despite several days passing, no information has been provided regarding his whereabouts, and state institutions have remained silent on the matter.
The government has failed to take any legal action or respond to the disappearance of a law student and peaceful political activist.
The BSF spokesperson revealed that when efforts were made to file an FIR regarding Javed Baloch’s disappearance at various police stations in Gulistan-e-Johar, police officers flatly refused to register the case. “This blatant refusal to take action is a shocking and condemnable example of the state’s oppression and lack of accountability,” the spokesperson stated.
In another similar incident, the BSF Shal Zone’s General Secretary, Gahram Ishaq, was forcibly disappeared by state personnel on April 24, 2025, in front of the Civil Hospital in Quetta. Gahram Ishaq, a student from Panjgur who had travelled to Quetta to pursue his education, was abducted by the authorities, further highlighting the ongoing state-sponsored repression against innocent civilians.
The Students’ Front concluded the statement by demanding the immediate, unconditional, and safe release of Javed Baloch and Gahram Ishaq. “We strongly condemn this continuing brutality and appeal to international human rights organizations to take immediate action to halt the ongoing genocide of the Baloch people in Balochistan,” the spokesperson urged.
The BSF called on the international community to hold the Pakistani government accountable for its actions and work toward securing justice for the victims of forced disappearances and extrajudicial violence in Balochistan.
