FBM to Hold Protest in Berlin on Anniversary of Zahedan Massacre
BERLIN: The Germany branch of the Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has announced a protest demonstration in Berlin to mark the third anniversary of the Zahedan Massacre, which occurred on September 30, 2022, in Iranian Occupied Balochistan’s capital city Dozzaap (Zahedan).
The protest will take place on September 30, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, in front of the Iranian Embassy in Berlin.
According to the FBM, the demonstration aims to commemorate the victims of the massacres and raise awareness of ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.
In a public call to action, the FBM has invited members of the Baloch diaspora, human rights defenders, activists, and justice advocates to join the protest and stand in solidarity with the victims of state violence.
The pro-freedom Baloch political party accuses the Iran of systemic repression and calls the continued targeting of Baloch people “genocide”.
The Zahedan Massacre refers to a violent crackdown by Iranian security forces during protests in Zahedan, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, including children. The event sparked international condemnation and has since become a symbol of resistance for Baloch activists worldwide.
FBM organisers say the Berlin protest will serve as both a memorial and a political agitation against the Iran’s treatment of oppressed nations, particularly the Baloch community.
“Silence is complicity,” the FBM statement reads. “We call on all those who believe in human rights and justice to raise their voices against the ongoing atrocities in Balochistan.”
