Balochistan: BLA Accepts Responsibility for Attacks in Kalat and Kech

SHAAL (QUETTA): The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has taken responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks in Balochistan, including the arson of a toll plaza and firing on security forces in Kalat, as well as an attack on a truck transporting natural resources in Kech.

According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, on the night of September 25 at approximately 10 PM, BLA fighters took control of key locations along the Quetta-Karachi highway, including the Kalat Toll Plaza and surrounding areas such as Marjan. During the operation, several checkpoints were established, and the group carried out traffic screening for nearly four hours.

The statement added that the Kalat Toll Plaza was set on fire during the operation.

Additionally, fighters opened fire on two vehicles belonging to the Frontier Corps (FC) as they attempted to flee from one of the checkpoints, resulting in injuries to two personnel. “The operation lasted until 1 AM, Azad Baloch added.

Separately, the BLA also claimed responsibility for another attack in the Kech district. According to the group, on September 27, BLA fighters targeted and set fire to a truck transporting natural resources near the Nasirabad area of Kech.

“Our organisation takes responsibility for this attack,” the statement read. “On September 27, our freedom fighters attacked and burned a truck transporting natural resources, near Nasirabad area of Kech.”

The BLA has repeatedly targeted infrastructure, Pakistani security forces and what the Baloch pro-freedom groups describes as exploitative resource operations in Balochistan, a region plagued by decades of insurgency and unrest.
