Balochistan: Pakistani Forces Abduct Four Men
SHAAL, BALOCHISTAN: The Pakistan forces have abducted at least four young men in two separate incidents in Quetta and Turbat and subsequently moved them to undisclosed locations.
According to family members, two brothers, Zakariya, son of Muhammad Awad, and Rehan, son of Haji Muhammad Awad, were taken into custody during a pre-dawn offensive on February 28, 2026, at approximately 4:30 a.m.
The raid took place in the Gulshanabad area during suhoor, the pre-dawn meal in Ramadan. Since their detention, the family says they have received no information regarding their whereabouts.
Relatives said that the brothers were transferred to an unknown location shortly after being detained. They have appealed to human rights organisations and political parties to raise their voices for the brothers’ recovery and to press for their safe release.
In a separate incident, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) in a statement said that it had received a complaint regarding the detention of two more young men, Shoaib and Safar Khan, during a Pakistani forces aggression in Killi Qambrani last night.
According to the organisation, security forces took both individuals into custody and later moved them to an undisclosed location.
VBMP condemned the detentions, describing them as a matter of serious concern. The organisation called on authorities to either formally charge the detainees and present them before a court of law or ensure their immediate release if no evidence exists against them.
Human rights advocates continue to express concern over reports of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, urging transparency and adherence to due process under the law.
