Pakistan Military Offensives: Punjabi Army Will Not Succeed in Balochistan
Free Balochistan Movement to organise a protest at UN headquarters in New York
LONDON: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has announced to organise a protest demonstration at UN Headquarters in New York during the United Nations 71st General Assembly meetings to highlight the Human Rights Violations and illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan.
The FBM in a Press Release from London said that Pakistan has been committing gross Human Rights violations and killing innocent Baloch people since it occupied Balochistan in 1948. “Pakistani state has made life difficult for Baloch nation by target killings, indiscriminate bombardment and enforced-disappearances.”
According to FBM Press Release, the Pakistani forces have killed around 5,000 people under-custody in a notorious ‘kill and dump’ policy and abducted more than 20,000 Baloch who continue to face brutal torture in the custody of Pakistani forces.
UN and other international Human Rights organisation intervened and saved people of Kosovo, East Timor and South Sudan from oppression when they were facing similar brutalities as Balochistan is facing currently. “The UN was established after 2nd World War to stop powerful and bigger nations from violating the rights and usurping the freedom of smaller nations,” FBM said.
Pakistan was granted UN membership in September, 1947 and it signed the UN charter against violation of Human Rights and aggression against other nations but after few months Pakistan violated the UN charter and attacked Balochistan in march, 1948. However, the UN continues to remain silent on Pakistani state’s illegal occupation and human rights violations in Balochistan. It is the responsibility of the United Nations to take notice of the violations of its charter and state brutalities by Pakistan in Balochistan.
The Free Balochistan Movement in its Press Release further said that it will hold a protest demonstration on 13 September, 2016 outside UN Headquarters in New York during the UN’s 71st General Assembly where the heads and representatives of all countries will participate. The aim of the protest is to highlight the illegal occupation and Pakistani state’s crimes against humanity in Balochistan, and to give awareness about Baloch national struggle for freedom.
The Free Balochistan Movement has appealed all pro-freedom Baloch and other International Human Rights activists to join the protest demonstration to expose Pakistan’s brutalities and bring the plight of Baloch nation to world’s attention.
On 9th of July, 2016 the pro-freedom Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri had announced to start an international awareness campaign from the platform of Free Balochistan Movement to highlight the Baloch freedom struggle and bring the plight of Baloch nation to the world’s attention. In the first phase of its campaign, the FBM organised a long march from Germany’s Dusseldorf city to Berlin.
