 Balochistan: Pakistani forces suffer heavy losses in Punjgur attack, BLA accepts responsibility

QUETTA: Baloch freedom fighters have attacked a convoy of the Pakistani army in Panjgur Balochistan on Monday wounding and killing several soldiers of the Pakistani military.

The military convoy was on its way back after conducting an attack on civilian populations in Gichk and surrounding areas of Panjgur when it was ambushed.

The surprise attack resulted in wounding eight Pakistani soldiers including one official of intelligence agencies and at least one civilian.

Per Balochistan local news reports, the injured soldiers include Muhammad Riaz, Ghulam Murtaza, Naeed, Muhammad Fahad and intelligence agencies official Muhammad Ali.  The wounded civilian has been named as Aslam. The names of three other injured officials could not be confirmed immediately.

Meanwhile pro-freedom Baloch resistance organisation the Baloch Liberation Army has accepted the responsibility for the attack on army convoy and said that several soldiers were killed and injured during Gick attack.

The BLA spokesperson Mr. Jiand Baloch said that Pakistan military convoy was returning after carrying out attacks against innocent Baloch civilians and abducting several persons.

He said, “Our fighter specially targeted two vehicles (a land cruiser and a white Toyota Surf) which were carrying military personnel and their local collaborators.

“We had information that ‘Traitor’ Sana Eido was in one of the vehicles and there are unconfirmed reports of him being either killed or wounded during the attack.”

The spokesperson of BLA warned that those who have surrendered and at present are collaborating with Pakistan army, “they will not be pardoned at any cost and strong action will be taken against them.”
