Baloch Martyrs Day commemorations held in Vancouver Canada
CANADA: Baloch activists in Vancouver have paid rich tributes to martyrs of Baloch freedom struggle in Thursday where they organised an event to commemorate the Baloch Martyrs Day/national Remembrance Day.
Kurdish Community representatives also participated to show their solidarity with people of Baloch on this important day. Kurd activists, Massoud Hashemi Barzanji, Mamad Toz, Mohammad Khademyani, Taban Ghader, Behzad Najafi Kermashani,Gabar Choli paid their respects to Baloch Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their homeland and showed their solidarity to Baloch nation with the hope that one day Baloch and Kurd will become free nations and have their own countries.
Professor Naela Baloch spoke in depth about Baloch national struggle and sacrifices of Baloch martyrs for their homeland and she stressed Baloch liberation struggle was becoming stronger day by day.
Baloch community representative Aeysha Naruei shed a light on the importance of Baloch national struggle and said sacrifices of Baloch nation will never go in vain.
Gulam Mustafa Raisani shed a lights on Balochistan National Remembrance Day and Khuda Baksh Baloch read the revolutionary poetry of Baloch national poet Mubarek Qazi Baloch.
Mamad Toz in his speech mentioned the long suffering of Baloch and Kurd in their pursuit for justice and self-determination. He said: “This cause has created a special bond between Kurd and Baloch.” He ended his speech with raising slogan of “Long live Balochistan and long live Kurdistan.”
Aziz Baloch, Coordinator of International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (Canada), said that on 13 November, 1839 the British forces attacked Balochistan where Mir Mehrab Khan and his companions were killed while defending their homeland. “They preferred death over slavery.”
He said from 1938 onward Baloch people have been struggling and giving sacrifices for their freedom. “We have gathered here today to pay our tributes to all those martyrs and prisoners of conscientious in Balochistan.”
He also thanked the representatives of Kurdish community and paid tributes to Kurd people and their martyrs for their courageous struggle for peace and liberty.
“I salute the Kurdish people for their struggle against Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkish state atrocities and religious fundamentalist forces. The Kurds are fighting to protect their homeland and nation,” Aziz Baloch said.
He said that Iran was executing Baloch youth on regular basis on the orders of Iranian kangaroo courts where the Baloch do have the chance to prove their innocence.
Similarly Pakistan army is abducting Baloch youth including students, teachers and other activists from their universities, colleges, peaceful protests and homes. The Pakistani forces tortures the abducted Baloch in prisons to death and dump their bodies away in desolated areas, he added.
He said, “Unfortunately, the western countries have turned a blind eye to Iran and Pakistan’s genocidal policies against Baloch people. I hope that soon the world will break their silence and morally support the Baloch freedom movement.”
