Another Baloch activist on Facebook described the killing of Granaz a reflection of ‘Pakistani [army] mentality’ and said that Pakistan abducts, imprisons and tortures women and children of Baloch activists and ‘we [Baloch] tell the world that Pakistan’s such actions are inhuman.’ such incidents [killing of Baloch women by pro-freedom groups] has been taking place this region for some time now, he added.
An international friend of Balochistan told Balochwarna news, ‘We hope the Baloch fighters do not lose their track and discredit their years of sacrifices and struggle. The killing of women and children is not allowed even at the time of war.’
In December 2017 a Baloch group – Baloch Liberation Tigers’ had attacked the house of a pro-Pakistan Wadera (Tribal notable) in Dera Bugti. Six members of his family including women and children were killed in that attack.
In April 2018, armed men barged into a house and shot dead the sister of a surrendered Baloch fighter in Talsar area of Hoshaab in district Kech Balochistan.
The victim was named a Jamila Baloch whose brother Iqbal Baloch had earlier surrendered and arrested and executed by the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) but the organisation has termed the killing of Iqbal’s sister as ‘unpleasant, regrettable and deplorable incident.’
Pro-freedom Baloch activists and friends of Balochistan who unconditionally support the Baloch freedom movement have also expressed concerns about an increase in such incidents.
