Balochistan: Pakistan forces abduct 18 people including women and children from Awaran and Dera Bugti
QUETTA: Pakistan military and FC have abducted at least 18 people including eight women and children from Balochistan’s Awaran and Dera Bugti districts in past few days.
According to details, Pakistan Army has abducted four Baloch women and a boy, who is the son of one of the abducted women in two separate offensives in Balochistan’s Awaran district. separate illegal raids in the Awaran district of Balochistan.
Local sources reported that Pakistan FC and intelligence agencies attacked the victims’ house in Haroni Dunn area of Awaran on Friday night and arrested the women and their son.
The abducted and disappeared women have been named as Bibi Sakina and Bibi Saeeda and the boy has been identified as Sajid Baloch son of Bibi Sakina.
The boy was abducted on Wednesday, November 25 by Pakistani forces.
In another similar offensive, Pakistani forces attacked Mir Liaqat Sajdi’s house in the Peerandar Zeelag area of Awaran district at midnight on Friday and took two women of his family into custody. The two victims have been identified as Bibi Nazal and Bibi Hameeda, sister of Mir Liaquat Sajidi.
On Saturday, November 30, Pakistani Police and Levies forces have claimed to have arrested four women from Awaran district and recovered weapons from their possession. The government sources claimed that the women were arrested on the complaint of local residents and accused them of being “facilitators of armed Baloch organisations”.
Baloch Human Rights Organisation and social media activists, however, outrightly rejected the allegations of Pakistani forces and staged drama and trumped-up charges and said that the women were beaten up at the time of their arrested and subjected to further torture in custody of military for 24 hours before handing them over to Levies and Police.
It is important to mention that in the past also Pakistani forces have abducted Baloch women and children from different areas of Balochistan many of whom are still missing. However, this the first time that Pakistani forces have stooped a another level and charged aged Baloch women of being “facilitators” of armed Baloch groups fighting for the independence of Balochistan.
Earlier on Tuesday, November 29 Pakistani forced abducted thirteen people including women and children from Dera Bugti district of Balochistan whose whereabouts remained unknown until the filing of this report.
According to Republican News Network (RNN), the victim were abducted from Uch’s Lakha Narri area, and they were later shifted to Sui army cantonment.
All the victims belong to Habeebani a sub-clan of Bugti Baloch tribe who were moving toward the city, to find shelter from because of extreme cold weather in mountainous areas, while they were whisked away by the Armed forces.
The abducted people include four women and children. Some of the victims of Dera Bugti offensive have been named as: Shahgull son of Shah Nawaz Bugti, Shad Ali son of Shah Dad, Meero son of Ghabru Bugti, Phogo son of Mazaran Bugti, Hunda son of Jada Bugti, Naseewan son of Zarrakh Bugti, Turkman son of Zarrakh Bugti, Sami Khatoon wife of Zarak Bugti, Shah Meer son of Bakht Ali Bugti, Naseebo Khatoon wife of Bakht Ali Bugti, Durr BiBi daughter of Bakht Ali Bugti.
The Pakistani forces in Dera Bugti are now reportedly demanding a ransom of millions of Rupees from the families of abducted people which they cannot afford.
The families have appealed from Baloch “nationalist parties” to play their role for the release of their women, children and other loved ones.
Pakistan Army, FC and intelligence agencies have been carrying out such illegal offensive in Balochistan from past several years. Pro-freedom Baloch parties and Human Rights Organisation says that Pakistani forces have abducted more than 20,000 Baloch including women and children since 2001 and killed at six thousands Baloch in illegal custody and dumped their dead bodies.
