Balochistan: Four wounded in Dera Bugti landmine blast
QUETTA: A landmine blast in the troubled Dera Bugti district of Balochistan on Sunday injured four workers, one of whom is in critical condition.
A Dera Bugti Levies force official told Voice of America (Urdu) that the blast occurred in the Pir Koh area as a tractor-trolley laden with sand was passing by, with workers on board.
The Levies officials said that the blast injured four laborers, including the driver, who were shifted to Dera Bugti Civil Hospital.
Over the years, a large number of people from Dera Bugti in Quetta have been protesting after being maimed by landmines.
People have been demanding the government to clear the remaining landmines in the area.
The injured include Muhammad Din, Mazar Khan, Kamal and Lashkar.
According to Levies, all the injured were from Dal area on the outskirts of Pirkoh.
Meanwhile, the Republican News reported that the tractor was taking sand to the worksite of the military camp in the Haidari Nala region of Dera Bugti.
It collided with the land mine a close to the military camp and four men on board were wounded.
The Republic News also reported that Baloch pro-freedom armed groups have previously warned the local contractors of working for the Pakistani forces.
